MAURICE DURAND
Maurice Durand has always been a painter atheart and painting since he was a young boy.
He started with drawing, watercolors, and oilpainting.
Only did oil painting awaken the true artistinside him.
The smell, the feel, the pigmentation, and thewide variety of mixtures triggered the most powerful emotions. The simple actof putting an oil paint brush to canvas filled him with inspiration.
Self-taught, with the utmost confidence inhimself and his art, he never wanted to take classes, even when his familyoffered him the opportunity to study at the Paris College of Fine Arts.
Through instinct alone, he learned how to workwith acrylic paints and paint with palette knives.
HIs incredible passion for painting requiresthat he be equally enthralled with his model in order to create. He lovesanimals and wandering through the great outdoors, and both just happen to behis favorite themes to paint.
His workshop is his sanctuary; he lovesspending time there to imagine and create his future works of art.
Maurice Durand has showcased his worksthroughout France, at exhibitions in Angoulême, Cognac, and Ré Island, as wellas at the Fine Arts Festival in Beauvoir sur Niort to name a few.
One o f his greatest successes was receivingan award at the PARIS ART SHOW (September 2020) fromMr. Betthancourt and Mr. Morin, bothhailing from the very prestigious Art & Design Magazine.
